Carly’s studio newborn session was nothing shy of a dream. From her full head of fuzzy blonde hair, to her gorgeous mama and daddy, it was one of my favorite newborn sessions to date!

I was so honored to shoot Carly’s session! Erin and Jason, her parents, drove all the way from Georgetown, Texas for me to shoot their session. I also did Carly’s Fresh 48 session, which you can see more of here.

Carly’s older brother got unexpectedly sick before her newborn session so he wasn’t able to attend. For the most part, her session went smoothly. At the end of her newborn shoot Carly got reallyyyyy colicky. I spent 20 minutes getting her into froggy pose, which is totally out of my norm. She wasn’t having any poses but I still managed to get a couple for her parents! The majority of her session was wrapped. Usually for my newborn sessions I do a lotttt of wrapped shots for variety’s sake. My favorite image from her session is below!

For Carly’s session we started with the heart bowl, then the wrapped shots (three props, one on the fur and the one on fabric), bucket shots, posed shots, and the parent shots. For my parent shots I don’t normally do the baby wrapped. Baby girl was having a really hard time with gas pain so we did the family portion wrapped. It actually turned out really beautiful!

The last step in Carly’s newborn experience was her ordering appointment, my favorite part! Erin chose mainly prints for her home, but she also chose my three 12×12 wood trio!
